Applications are now open for our 2023 Curtis Island LNG Indigenous Career Traineeship

 

Programmed Training Services, in partnership with Shell’s QGC business, are working together to create career opportunities for local Traditional Owners Gladstone residents under special measures related to employment legislative Acts. Shell’s QGC business has a unique relationship with Traditional Custodian groups - Bailai, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang, and Taribelang Bunda Peoples - across the Curtis Island LNG Facilities operating footprint. 

There are multiple traineeships available which will provide coaching to develop skills in safety, teamwork and delivery of specilised training in your chosen career. The traineeships will include hands-on practical experience, as well as some classroom lessons. Most of the traineeship will be carried out on Curtis Island, with the classroom experience to be held in Gladstone. This is a great opportunity for successful candidates to receive on the job training as well as a qualification. You will be learning from experienced professionals first hand, helping you to jump start your career in the natural gas industry.

Requirements

To be successful, you will be:

  • Be a part of the Traditional Owners Group across the Curtis Island LNG facilities operating footprint. This includes Bailai, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang and Taribelang Bunda Peoples
  • Able to work flexible hours
  • Willing to work as part of a team
  • Willing to learn new concepts
  • Passionate about building a career in the LNG industry
  • Able to get to the LNG Facility ferry terminal to travel to Curtis Island.
